Boys Home In Shahidnagar

BOY'S HOME

DBS's boy's home is a longstanding project, designed to care for boys who come from adverse circumstances. The boys are ages 5-16, and are looked after by one of the brothers, given supplemental education as well as schooling, discipline, medical care and nutrition. Many of the boys begin their time at the boy's home from a place of extreme malnourishment; the boy's home is able to nurse such boys back to full health, and provide them with a stable environment from which to launch full lives into adulthood. Indeed, two of the members of the Brotherhood were themselves members of the DBS boy's home! On Sunday afternoons, the delighted yells of the boys can be heard across the monastery as they play their weekly cricket match.
